Celebrating International Women’s Day x Partnering

At Plus Wonder, March 8th doesn’t just commemorate the first birthday of Partnering; it commemorates International Women’s Day! This year’s theme of #EmbraceEquity reflects what so many of our female partnerships have and continue to work toward.

Kirsten Ussery & Erika Boyd

The shared vision is really trying to break the cycle of disease for other families and in the community.

Kirsten Ussery & Erika Boyd started Detroit Vegan Soul to ensure their community had access to healthy, delicious food. These co-founders are a force as business owners & community advocates, helping others discover the transformational benefits of plant-based foods.

Robin Chase & Cameron Russell

I think we are united in wanting to transform the world very quickly, to be more… equitable and sustainable and just.

The mother/daughter duo of Robin Chase and Cameron Russell are working to help build the new economy (through various industries like fashion and transportation) to be more equitable, sustainable, and just. What keeps them going is their constant long-term support for each other’s well-being.

Nancy Reichman & Penelope Canan

Partnerships are successful because they combine strong personalities with the willingness to collaborate.

Penelope Canan & Nancy Reichman are two friends and professionals who teamed up to shine a spotlight on the incredible community that protected the ozone layer. Check out their book, Ozone Connections, which uncovers how global agreements depend on collective action.

Severn & Sarika Cullis- Suzuki

If we go back to very human values of eating from the land, having connections to our families and neighbors, I think a lot of good will come.

Sisters Sarika and Severn Cullis-Suzuki are on a mission to protect nature’s wonders for generations through their work with the David Suzuki Foundation. Through evidence-based research and policy analysis, they support a more sustainable Canada and unite people with nature.

Eve Ellis & Annette Niemtzow

It’s not just don’t sweat the small stuff, it’s really understanding what’s important to you. It’s taking stock of your own self.

Eve Ellis and Annette Niemtzow are spouses and partners in fighting for equality at work, in sports, in marriage, in politics, and throughout society. As friends and partners in life, they support each other continuously towards great things.

We are grateful to know so many inspiring women and partners that work towards the collective good and make great things happen. What a treat to share this day with them.

We would love for you to join us in building relationships that matter.
